Hon. Samuel Boniface, the youth leader of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, has claimed that some politicians attempted to influence him by offering him ₦100 million to dismantle the LP organization and turn it into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in advance of the next election.
In an interview, Boniface stated that he refused the large offer from well-known PDP leaders because he was loyal to his beliefs and would not compromise his party.
“Three weeks ago, some PDP stakeholders contacted me as the state youth leader of the Labour Party, asking me to collapse the Labour Party structure into their party,” he stated. I declined because I have an objective, even though they requested me to specify any figure between ₦100 million. My future is up to me. That is not how I can sell my conscience.
I also assured them that I would never turn on my party or my supporters. They did the same thing when I ran for the House of Representatives in 2023, but I informed them that I would rather lose the election than compromise my morals.
“They are making every effort to purchase the building. They are willing to make any kind of offer. However, I firmly think that they will fail if we don’t back down. Both the APC and the PDP have worn everyone out.
Boniface, who backed LP Chairperson Remilekun Ojo, denied recent media reports that said the Appeal Court had ruled against candidate Olusola Ebiseni.
“The reports we are seeing on social media are huge lies,” he declared. It is really disheartening because the parties reached an out-of-court settlement after the court had already dismissed the case.
According to Boniface, the media outlets that spread the disqualification claims will face legal action from the party.
“We have chosen to take legal action against certain newspapers that stated our candidate was removed from the list,” he stated. You can see our candidate on the INEC webpage, therefore who took him down?
We are suing the paper because such reports are disturbing given that the election is only two days away.

“What makes them say that our candidate was eliminated from the contest? They have no proof to back up their claim.
He added that, with documents and receipts to support the claims, Festus Olorunfemi, who had first voiced concerns, had formally resigned on behalf of Ebiseni and received ₦5 million from Ebiseni and an additional ₦2 million from the National Chairman.
“I can assure you that everything is very much intact,” Boniface told fans. This false information does not divert us.
