Armed bandits have killed one farmer, injured another, and kidnapped several others during an attack on Sarkin Bajaga village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday while the victims were working on their farmland, was confirmed in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Thursday.
According to preliminary findings, one of the farmers, identified as Titus Victor, 34, was shot and died from his injuries, while another, Nathan Andrew, 33, sustained a gunshot wound on his left thigh.
“The injured victim was rushed to Bege Hospital in Maraban Kajuru, where he is responding to treatment. The deceased was confirmed dead by a medical doctor,” the post read.
Makama added that an unspecified number of farmers were also abducted and taken to an unknown location by the attackers.
Security forces were said to have been mobilized to the area, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the culprits.
