Despite their dismal performance in the qualifiers, Frank Onyeka has maintained that the Super Eagles can still make it to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Of the six games the Super Eagles have played in the qualification series, they have won one, drawn four, and lost one.

The team led by Éric Chelle is six points behind leaders South Africa, who are now in fourth place in Group C.

Nevertheless, Onyeka remains hopeful that they may still make a comeback and secure a place to the Mundial.

“I am aware that our circumstances are challenging, but we still have a chance. In order to qualify, we simply need to win our next four games,” the Augsburg midfielder told Oma Sports.

In September, the qualifications will resume, with Nigeria playing Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
