According to Senator Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North, his state is the best in Nigeria after Akwa Ibom.
On the Upper Legislative Chamber floor on Wednesday, Oshiomhole revealed this during the Senate’s farewell session in honor of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Within 30 days of taking office as governor, Okpebholo, according to the lawmaker, had taken decisive action to change Edo State.
“We can all agree on one thing about Senator Monday: I have never met a man as humble as Monday,” Oshiomhole said.
“A guy of few words, his humility is contagious, but he has made up for it with action and consistent action in a way that is understandable and obvious.
“Mr. President, Edo State is very happy that I can now return home without fear. In just one month, he became one of the first governors to appoint men and women who would improve the state’s economy and social life.
In order to restore respect to Edo State’s traditional institutions, he has already taken decisive action. He has already begun taking actions that would impact the long-abandoned infrastructure development of our wonderful state. We already know the Attorney General and everyone else he appointed.

“I would like to express my gratitude to you, sir, for your leadership not only during his tenure but also for the moral and other support this Senate received under your direction. You are not allowed to come and vote because you are not registered in Edo State, but you moved to Edo to show us support when we needed it most.
On behalf of the people of Edo State, who are thrilled to have a new sheriff in town—a progressive one, at that—I would want to express my gratitude for your leadership, concern, and support, as well as for rallying all of the senators. To safeguard the votes of the Edo State people, some of our senators turned into boxers even as the former governor attempted to raid the INEC office and alter the numbers.
We’re glad that within 30 days, the Edo people will know that a new governor has arrived who is bright, resourceful, modest, and uses few words but takes decisive action.

I want to express my gratitude to Senator Monday for the honor you have bestowed upon me personally and to everyone you have met since you took over as executive governor of the state that was the greatest after Akwa Ibom.
