During a lengthy meeting of the State Executive Council on Friday, which was chaired by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, important state policies were examined and new implementation guidelines were given to ministries and agencies.
The late-night meeting at Government House in Osogbo evaluated progress in several sectors and recorded what the governor called “a very high job performance rating” from the populace.
“We must give ourselves credit for the numerous announcements, rallies, and endorsements from state interest organizations. All types of Osun people give our government extremely high ratings, and we have very high job performance ratings,” Adeleke informed his cabinet.
With the Ilesa dualization, the Ile-Ife flyover, the Oke Fia/Lameco flyovers, and the Iwo dualization as top priorities, the governor promised that ongoing road and infrastructure projects will be completed on time.
Adeleke instructed the Commissioner for Energy to get help from the National Electricity Regulatory Commission and create an implementation strategy for the recently passed State Electricity Market law.
The governor assigned the Ministry of Science and Innovation the responsibility of creating a plan for the implementation of blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, as well as expediting the implementation of the State ICT and Tech Innovation policies.
He praised the Imole Wifi Initiative’s inauguration but encouraged the government to portray Osun as a tech-driven state.
Regarding agriculture, Adeleke directed that the Statewide Youth Agropreneurship Project, which had been started in Oriade, be immediately expanded to other local government areas.
With regard to sports, he urged better cooperation with the House of Assembly and demanded immediate work on measures creating the Osun Sports Commission, the Police Trust Fund, and the Osun Sports Development Fund.
To address the issue facing local government, Adeleke requested that ALGON members draft developmental documents that were in line with the state’s goal. He gave the Ministry of Budget and the Chief of Staff the responsibility of spearheading the project.
He also mandated an evaluation of the Imole Youth Corps to guarantee the program’s objectives are delivered in a high-quality manner.
The governor also celebrated Osun’s progress in combating climate change, stating that the federal government, other states, and foreign donor organizations were taking notice of current projects.

“We hope to secure funding and donor support from a number of willing organizations,” he stated.
Adeleke emphasized the importance of obtaining reliable governance statistics from many sectors prior to the election season.

After much discussion, the council ratified Prince Adeleke Saheed Adeyemi’s appointment as the Olokusa of Okusa in Egbedore Local Government, authorized the promotion of minor chiefs to Part II Chiefs, and established a powerful committee to address the lack of personnel in the health and education sectors.
The acceptance of the council’s decisions and the governor’s speech marked the official end of the meeting.
