African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dele Momodu has denied rumors that former president Goodluck Jonathan could run for president again in 2027 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
When answering questions on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Friday, the seasoned journalist reportedly stated this.
Jonathan’s return ambition is still opposed by firmly established PDP interests, Momodu said.
Regarding Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with Peter Obi, the Labour (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, Dele Momodu clarified that such a political gathering should not be seen as an indication of a partnership.

In reference to public responses to a recent meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he said speculation is normal in politics.
“Those who are saying, ‘Oh, former President Jonathan will run on the platform of PDP, I doubt it,” he continued, “because those who are focused on eliminating PDP are still very much in place.” Some others believe that it’s common for politicians to meet, and that he is meeting with former Governor Peter Obi. They constantly get together.
“When we recently saw a photo of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso with President Bola Tinubu, some speculated that he was leaving the NNPP and joining the APC. People make a lot of guesses. Now is not the time for speculation. This is a time for concentration and planning.
“So, all of this noise will go there, and people can leave.” If you are unable to reach a consensus in a democracy, hold a primary, let people vote, and then decide who will win.
