After over thirty years in the entertainment industry, Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, better known by his stage name Mr. P, has discussed the difficulties of celebrity.
In an FM interview, Mr. P reportedly stated that, despite his prayers for stardom, he currently avoids public exposure.
According to the musician, whether he goes out or travels, he frequently dons sunglasses, facemasks, and face caps.
Peter Okoye recalled how much he missed the simple joys of eating his favorite foods, such as bread, akara, and drinks, and how he longed for normalcy but was unable to do so without being recognized.

“We used to pray for fame,” he continued, “but now, when I go out or travel, I cover my face with a facemask, a face cap, and even sunglasses to avoid being spotted.” We fervently wished for this game back then, but now that I’ve worked in the field for thirty years, I believe it’s time to live my life.
“The majority of celebrities have unpleasant aspects of their existence. On certain days while I’m driving, I’d want to pull over and get some food, like hot akara, but I have to send someone to keep from getting caught. By the time the individual leaves, purchases the slats, and returns, the temperature has dropped. That’s the greatest burger ever, ABC, and I miss having access to Akara Bread and Co. I still enjoy that existence.
