Dangote Group says the company was making arrangements to fly Ruth Otabor, sister of Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, to India for advance treatment before her death.
Dangote Group disclosed this on Sunday in a statement on its X account while condoling with the deceased’s family.
Recall that Ruth Otabor’s death was announced by her family on Sunday.
Her death comes after a Dangote Cement truck plying the Auchi, Edo State, road crushed her.
The accident had led to her legs being amputated until her eventual death on Sunday.
Phyna had claimed that Dangote reneged on its promise to fly her late sister abroad for treatment.
However, Dangote Group in its condolence message claimed that arrangements were made for the late Ruth to be flown to India pending medical clearance from her doctors before her demise.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo state.
“On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.
“Since the accident, our officials and insurance partners have been by her side, covering all financial and medical costs and supporting her family.
“Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors,” he stated.
