Police operatives in Kaduna have arrested three suspects in connection with a deadly attack and kidnapping in Rigachikun, Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred on September 5 at about 1:15 a.m. when gunmen invaded the Fulani Ruga settlement of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim at Ardon Fanshanu, Gadangayan.

The attackers fatally shot his son, Aminu Abubakar, and abducted two residents, Bashiru Muhammad, and Aliyu Muhammad.

Security sources said the Officer-in-Charge of Gadangayan and Amana police outposts mobilised operatives in collaboration with other security agencies and traced the kidnappers’ trail to the Fulani Ruga settlement of one Bature Bello in Kangimi village, Igabi LGA.

Items recovered included a live round of AK-47 ammunition, a yellow raincoat, and a charmed jacket. The police subsequently arrested Bello, his son, Inuwa Bature, and Amadu Bello a.k.a. Gagare.

Sources said the kidnapped victims were later found critically injured in nearby bushes. They were taken to hospital but confirmed dead by doctors.

The suspects and exhibits have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigation.
