Arms smugglers, narcotics traffickers, and currency counterfeiters were arrested as a result of recent combined tactical team operations, according to the Nigeria Police Force.
This was reportedly included in a statement released on Tuesday by Olumuwiya Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer.
Police reported that Haruna Sani, who allegedly provides weapons to bandits, was taken into custody by members of the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS).
In a different operation in February, the team detained Solomon Bala, Joseph Matthew, and Usman Yahaya for allegedly trafficking hard drugs, including codeine syrups, in Postiskum.
According to the text, “FID-STS agents stopped Hauwa Sani, a 30-year-old woman from Doro village, on the Keffi/Abuja Expressway at approximately 5:50 PM on December 23, 2024. A 5-liter jar of palm oil was discovered to contain 124 rounds of live ammunition of different calibers. She acknowledged that she had been assigned by a Nasiru from Daura to transport the ammunition to Katsina State. A number of additional seizures and arrests that are being profiled are the result of longer investigations. We ask the public to exercise caution and to stay aware of these smugglers’ antics. The proper authorities should be notified right once of any suspicious materials.

Another operation took place on February 1st, 2025, when FID-STS agents, acting on reliable information, apprehended Solomon Bala (m), Joseph Matthew (m), and Alhaji Usman Yahaya (m), all of whom were from Postiskum, Yobe State. As the suspects were moving thirty cartons of codeine syrups and other hard substances about Postiskum, they were caught. Admittedly, the drugs were meant to be supplied to kidnappers, Boko Haram insurgents, and bandits that terrorize Yobe State and neighboring countries.
Additionally, on February 3, 2025, FID-STS agents grabbed ten AK-47 weapons and detained Yusuf Dantani, age 24, Usman Labaran, age 32, and Musa Mohammed, age 23. After being questioned, the suspects admitted to participating in multiple arms trades and getting N3,980,000 for the final shipment of weapons they were meant to exchange.
The force is committed to bringing offenders to justice and dismantling illicit enterprises, Adejobi stated.
He asked the people to keep helping the police by giving them accurate and timely information that can help with crime detection and prevention.
