The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspected robbers in the state capital.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer Ahmed Wakil detailed that the suspects, during interrogation, allegedly confessed to their roles in aiding armed robbery operations and acknowledged their involvement in the theft of various valuable items from several homes.
The statement underscored the significant recovery of stolen goods, including five laptops, four mobile phones, five power banks, one router, six wristwatches, one jam box, and one clipper.
According to the statement, “In the early hours of Monday, 26 August 2024, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the command, led by Sani Mohammed and working in conjunction with the Yan Committee, made a crucial breakthrough by intercepting a tricycle carrying suspicious individuals in the Unguwan Jahun area of Bauchi metropolis.”

Despite the suspects’ efforts to escape, two individuals—Aliyu A. Aliyu, also known as Jagaba, aged 24, and Abdulrahman Ibrahim, also known as Abdun Umma, aged 17, both from the Jahun area—were apprehended at the scene.
The statement further noted that the command is continuing its investigations to capture the remaining members of the gang.
Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammad praised the Rapid Response Squad’s efforts and reaffirmed his commitment to tackling criminal activities in the state.
