According to a statement released by the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, Yusuf’s arrest was facilitated by a tip-off received by the division regarding the nefarious activities of vandals operating in the Old School of Nursing area of the bridge.

“The officers of Onikan Division, acting on credible information, swooped in and arrested Yakubu Yusuf, and recovered 21 long pieces of aluminum railings,” the statement posted on X reads.

The statement reiterated the commitment of the force to safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of citizens.

“We will not tolerate any form of vandalism or destruction of public property. Our officers are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend other suspects involved in this nefarious activity,” it noted

The police command urged the public to provide information on any suspicious activities, stressing that investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.
