The President of the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA), Mr. Benneth Korie, has identified poor road infrastructure as the primary cause of delays in petroleum products distribution across the country.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, Korie emphasized the critical need for improved road networks to enhance the efficiency of petroleum deliveries. “Roads contribute significantly to the delays in the distribution of petroleum products. It is essential to fix the roads,” he stressed.
“Let the government keep to their words. When they say they are awarding contracts for road infrastructure and have paid money, they should make sure the money is paid, not on social media, then the people can hold the contractors accountable,” he said.

Korie called on government to ensure effective utilization of funds allocated for road infrastructure projects, urging transparency and accountability in contract awards and execution.
Additionally, he highlighted the need to review diesel prices, citing its impact on petrol costs. “A reduction in diesel prices would lead to lower petrol prices,” he explained.
NOGASA’s president advocated for a holistic approach to improving the petroleum supply chain, prioritizing road repairs and contractor accountability.
He urged the Federal Government to take immediate action to address the nation’s poor road network, ensuring timely and quality work.
