A publication that connected President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the fake government deal declaration of Fela Durotoye, a well-known leadership coach and former Alliance for New Nigeria presidential candidate, has drawn criticism from the Presidency.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria’s biennial conference in Abuja, Durotoye reportedly described how, in spite of intense persuasion from a representative posing as a pastor, he turned down a chance to embezzle ₦5 billion in a shady government transaction.
On Wednesday, he disclosed that he was approached by a representative offering him a high-paying training contract and telling him that he had already been chosen for the position, reports Church Times Nigeria.
Durotoye was informed that he met all of the requirements for the program, which required training individuals in all 774 local government areas of Nigeria in eight weeks.
He made sure that expenditures were solely based on actual expenses when he created an invoice upon request. The training was estimated to cost 1.3 billion naira by his team.

But all was altered three days later by a call from the president.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who shared a video of the interview on his X handle on Thursday, Durotoye never made accusations against any members of Tinubu’s administration, as Daily Trust cited.
Daily Trust was found lying once more, he wrote. The video by Durotoye was listened to. No one in Tinubu’s government was ever accused by him. The unreliable newspaper, however, would constantly distort news and headlines to harm the Tinubu administration’s standing.
