In the face of growing violence in several regions of the nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined a private meeting with senior security personnel.

The meeting started just after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and is currently taking place in the President’s official house, the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. It follows an increase in insecurity, especially in the states of Borno, Benue, and Plateau.

Earlier in the afternoon, a large number of vehicles transporting service officials, including the Inspector-General of Police, the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, entered the Villa.

After an 18-day working visit and policy retreat in Paris and London, Tinubu returned to Abuja late Monday, which coincided with the conference. Sources claim that while overseas, the President had been giving orders to security agencies and keeping a careful eye on events back home.
