Salihu Byezhe, 52, died suddenly after falling during Subhi prayers in Gudaba village, Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to reports acquired on Friday morning, the event occurred on Thursday as Byezhe was attending the community mosque for early morning prayers.
According to Musa Dantani, a local resident, After eating Sahur, the pre-dawn meal practiced during Ramadan, Byezhe completed his ablutions before proceeding to the mosque for prayers.

During the prayer session, he collapsed unexpectedly, causing those present to act quickly, transporting him to a hospital in Kuje. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival, with medical workers blaming excessive blood pressure.
“Prayers were in progress when he suddenly slumped, and some Muslims inside the mosque quickly grabbed him and took him to the hospital.” He was still breathing on the way to the hospital, but he died once he arrived,” Dantani told Daily Trust.
One of the deceased’s sons was there in the mosque when the person collapsed, and he later accompanied them to the hospital, where the attending physician certified the person’s death.
According to reports, the deceased had high blood pressure that worsened during morning prayers.
According to Dantani, the body was buried at around 10:12 a.m. on Thursday, in accordance with Islamic norms.
