The Italian strategist, whose departure was expected after Brazil announced him as their next national team manager last week, leaves Real Madrid as the club’s most decorated coach in its long history.
Ancelotti won 15 major trophies during his two tenures as manager, including three UEFA Champions League wins, two La Liga championships, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
His second spell resulted in two league and European doubles, the most notable of which was the club’s legendary Champions League run in 2022.

Real Madrid will pay tribute to Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday, during their final home game against Real Sociedad.
Despite his departure from the dugout, Ancelotti’s relationship with the club may continue beyond the pitch. The 65-year-old, who intends to live part-time in Madrid, may be invited back in an executive or ambassadorial capacity in the future.
Real Madrid quickly found a replacement for Xabi Alonso after his return to the club’s leadership. Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, a beloved former player, will take over as manager.
Alonso is likely to sign a three-year contract and will be officially introduced to the media at the Santiago Bernabéu on Monday.
He will be accompanied by four new staff members as he begins his next chapter at the club where he formerly played as a midfield general.
