The House of Representatives has invited the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, over the bribery allegation by a controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky.

The House Joint Committees also invited the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Halilu Nababa, for questioning on the matter.

The lawmakers had earlier invited Bobrisky and a blogger, Martins Otse aka VeryDarkMan, to explain what transpired between the time the former was convicted by the Lagos State special offences court for abuse of the naira and when he was released.

Bobrisky, who was released from prison a few weeks ago, had in a video shown by VeryDarkMan alleged that some EFCC officers demanded ₦15 million to drop the money laundering charges against him.

He also claimed in the same video that some NCoS officials allowed him to serve his jail term in a private residence instead of a correctional facility after money changed hands.

The controversial figure had since denied the allegations and deleted all his posts on social media while the EFCC boss had set up a team of investigators to look into the allegations.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) on Thursday suspended four senior NCoS officials over the matter.

In a letter dated September 27, the committee ordered the EFCC chairman and the NCoS boss to appear on Monday along with all officers mentioned by the cross-dresser.
