Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is the only realistic alternative for Nigerians as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration works to improve the country for the benefit of its residents.
The Speaker made these statements during the official defection of many PDP members to the APC in Kaduna State, led by former NEMA Director General Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi.
It is understood that the former NEMA DG, together with hundreds of his fans and other former PDP leaders in Kaduna State, joined the APC.
Abbas welcomed Sani Sidi into the APC, stating that the former NEMA DG’s move was timely and suitable. He emphasized that the ruling party provides a safe haven for politicians committed to improving the lives of citizens.
The Speaker stated on Wednesday that the APC will continue to strengthen as more members of opposing political groups join the ruling party.
“Today is a day of excitement for all APC members in Kaduna. In the last two years, I can’t recall witnessing members of the opposition band together to demonstrate their support and solidarity with the APC like they did today.
“Myself and the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, have been in talks with Sani Sidi for over three months to see how he can leave the sinking ship.” Governor Uba Sani has made significant efforts to bring Sani Sidi on board.
“I can promise you that Sani Sidi saw President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s and Governor Uba Sani’s developmental works and joined the APC. We are pleased that you have accepted our invitation to join APC.

“You’ve arrived to the correct location. This is a party for peace and fulfillment. You have become an integral part of our team. You’re in good, dependable hands. We assure you that you will be treated with the respect and advantages that come with being a founding member of the APC. “You will have no reason to regret your decision,” the Speaker stated, addressing the defectors.
In a separate statement during the event, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani hailed Alhaji Sani Sidi as one of the state’s prominent political leaders, whose choice to join the APC was for the good of the state, particularly his people, rather than for personal gain.
“Today, I am not shocked that he made the correct decision. His decision is merely for the benefit of his people, not for personal gain. He is content and has enough for himself.
“As the Speaker mentioned, we held a number of discussions, consultations, and interactions. In all of these, his priority is the development of Kaduna State.
