The National Association of Resident Doctors ( NARD) on Monday declared a seven-day warning strike to press home the demand of their abducted colleague.
The victim, Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, was abducted alongside her husband by suspected bandits on December 27 last year in Kaduna.
The decision to embark on the strike was taken at NARD National Executive Council emergency meeting held in Abuja.

In a chat with journalists after the meeting, the association’s President, Dr. Dele Abdullahi, decried the escalation of insecurity in the country
He added that the strike was a direct response to the abduction of the victim, who is the Registrar of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
Resident Doctors at the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, on August 15 staged a peaceful rally to demand the release of their colleague.
