It is reported that Mrs Veronica Adepoju, a retired police officer who was last the DPO of Mushin Division, allegedly handed off her ailing brother, Kelvin Bamidele, who has been diagnosed with dementia since 2018, in a bushy area of Ikorodu and left him to his fate.

Kelvin Bamidele

According to reports provided to Naomisophyblog, Mr Kelvin Bamidele, the victim, was married and had four children. He became a burden after Mrs Veronica Adepoju visited his home in late 2024 with the intention of severing his relationship with his wife and kids.As said, Veronica claimed Kevin’s business, accused Kevin’s wife of adultery, and sent her away with her kids. She also took care of Kelvin’s poor health until she started to view him as a burden.

Due to his deteriorating condition, Kelvin claimed he was unable to halt his sister’s plan and could only succumb to her decisions. Veronica Adepoju proceeded with her intentions to take over Kevin’s hotel business, sold it, and only sent Kelvin’s wife a total of five million naira after months of pleading.Additionally, Kelvin’s wife utilised the five million to partially repay a debt she took out to finance the business when she was in charge.

In 2018, Mr Kelvin Bamidele, who had previously operated a hotel as a joint venture with his brother, who now resides overseas, was unexpectedly diagnosed with dementia and became unfit to handle the business. He gave his wife, Mrs Bamidele, instructions to take over the hotel’s operation.

However, Mrs Bamidele ran the hotel business by taking out a large loan to finance its expansion, and she hadn’t paid it back in full before Mrs Veronica Adepoju, Kelvin Bamidele’s sister, learnt of the situation and took over the hotel management for the reason that Kevin’s wife allegedly used the hotel as a prostitution arena, and she also accused her of adultery.

After Mrs Veronica allegedly squandered the money from Kelvin’s company sales and had no use for Kelvin in her home, the situation took an unexpected turn. It should be noted that as of the time Veronica sent Kelvin’s wife and kids away from Kelvin’s rented apartment, their rent was due for a renewal.Kelvin was taken away to go and live with Mrs Veronica, his sister, while the wife and the kids were rendered homeless until Mrs Bamidele’s family intervened to give them shelter. Additionally, Veronica had already sold the company before she forced Mrs Bamidele and the children to leave their house, and she only sent her five million naira to help her pay back a portion of the loans months later.

However, Kelvin Bamidele was later abandoned in the bush somewhere in Ikorodu by his own sister Veronica, who claimed she was no longer able to pay his medical fees.Fortunately, Mr Kelvin was spotted by occupants of a nearby estate, who started to enquire and begged Kelvin’s wife to bring him back and take proper care, but Mrs Bamidele, who’s left with 4 kids to cater for, complained that she has no means to cater for her sick husband, which led the estate occupants to sort for Mrs Veronica.

Instead of abandoning the sick man in the middle of nowhere, the good Samaritans called Mrs Veronica to make provisions for Mr Kelvin. She offered to give N450,000 but almost immediately demanded a refund after learning that Kevin’s wife would be using the funds to provide for him. The money was returned, while Kelvin was left to suffer a terrible fate.

Mrs Bamidele, who struggles to provide for her children and pay school fees, is pleading with the public for help in her overwhelmed state, as all efforts to reach Mrs Veronica Adepoju have proven abortive. She begs for help, pointing out that if the business were still up and running, it would have been a resourceful avenue to meet her husband’s medical obligations.

The public can try to reach Kelvin Bamidele’s family for intervention on:
