In an online video, Senate President Godswill Akpabio is seen ordering Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the representative of the Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, to be removed from the Senate for interfering with the plenary session by changing her seat without permission.
As the plenary was reportedly underway, Chief Whip Senator Mohammed Ali Monguno brought up a point of order concerning Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s “improper seating position.”
A loud altercation broke out between Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and Monguno before he could complete his remarks. The Sergeant-at-Arms had to step in and try to remove her out of the room.
When the Senate President attempted to bring order back among the chaos, the female senator resisted, demanding an explanation for why her seat had been changed without her consent.

According to the footage that surfaced online, Natasha ignored the MPs’ attempts to appease her and gave an explanation for her behavior.
In other news, Akpabio has argued that if it is proven that USAID is funding Boko Haram as claimed, the agency will no longer be permitted to work in Nigeria.
Speaking in the plenary on Wednesday, Akpabio made the statement in response to the claim that USAID is funding Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in Nigeria.
Investigating the claim and acting appropriately based on confirmed information are crucial, he underlined.
“We have no business permitting Boko Haram to have offices in Nigeria if it is true that USAID has been providing funding to the group there. The Senate President stated, “Therefore, we must automatically delve deeper into the issue before we can take decisive steps and also ask for reconciliation.”
