Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended Kogi Central Senator, has refuted accusations that she apologised to the Nigerian Senate leadership for the conduct that led to her suspension.
In a statement made on Monday, March 24, Akpoti-Uduaghan called the reports incorrect and deceptive.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she stands firm in her actions and statements about the incident that led to her suspension, and that she has never apologized to the Senate or any individual on the subject.
She stated, “The claims circulating that I have apologized to the Senate and revoked my position are entirely false. I stand firm in my statements and actions, and I have not apologized to the Senate or anyone else for this matter.”
She also termed the assertions as sad, stressing that certain people are intent on misrepresenting the truth and misleading the public.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that the issues she is currently facing are not about her, but about maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy.
“I ask the public to dismiss these rumours and publications, which do not reflect my position. My commitment to truth, justice, and the people I represent remains unchanged.

“This is not about me; it is about the integrity of our democracy. “I will not be intimidated or forced into submission by false narratives,” she continued.
Akpoti-Uduaghan praised citizens of her constituency for their unity and encouraged Nigerians to be aware of disinformation.
She stated that all official statements would be issued directly from her verified social media channels.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated, “I appreciate the support and solidarity of my people. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for what is right and fair.”
