Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, has refuted claims that he is involved in the ongoing debate between content producer King Mitchy and notorious activist VeryDarkMan on the internet.
King Mitchy reportedly used Seyi Tinubu’s financial support to refurbish a public school in just six days. She later got involved in an online dispute with VeryDarkMan over claims that she had neglected to report donations from the general public since 2025.
VeryDarkMan responded by accusing Seyi Tinubu of funding Mitchy’s charitable endeavors, intensifying the situation.
Additionally, it was alleged that the activist urged people to hold Mitchy and Seyi Tinubu responsible if something were to happen to him in a recent video that was uploaded to his Instagram page.
In response, Seyi Tinubu posted a series of messages on his Instagram page calling the accusations and implication made against him “false.” He clarified that the only time he ever interacted with King Mitchy was in public, when he provided funding for her non-governmental organization, or NGO.
In the last several days, he stated, “My name has been purposefully included in an online dispute between King_Mitchy (‘Mitchy’) and VeryDarkMan (VDM).”
“Let me be clear: I am not the subject of the accusations and insinuations.”
Seyi Tinubu clarified that he had met Mitchy once along with other people and had contributed money to her NGO’s operations as part of his larger support for youth empowerment programs throughout Nigeria.
He claims that due to his poor health, the planned follow-up meeting to get updates on the donation’s impact was canceled.
“No private encounter, no secret arrangement, and no impropriety of any kind have ever occurred,” he said.
A quarrel that he neither started nor took part in is being used to damage the president’s reputation, according to his son.
Additionally, he claimed that VeryDarkMan “seemed to have been expecting a trigger” to attack him and took advantage of the circumstance.

Further denouncing what he called online bullying and harassment, Seyi Tinubu cautioned that such attacks may have detrimental effects on mental health.

He reiterated his dedication to generosity, pointing out that he has supported programs in education, business, healthcare, and youth empowerment for more than ten years through his foundation and individual contributions.
“Outreach and philanthropy should never be weaponized or politicized,” he declared. “Builders, not bullies, are needed in Nigeria.” Sensationalism based on conjecture is not what we need; we need responsible conversation.
He denied the charges and demanded moderation, a return to “truth and responsibility,” and de-escalation.
