Shehu Sani says UN must respond to allegations raised by Women Affairs Minister

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has called on the United Nations (UN) and its subsidiaries to respond to the allegation raised by the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.

Naomi Sophy Blog reports that Kennedy-Ohanenye, while speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, claimed that the UN has been receiving money from donors on behalf of Nigerians.

She further gave the global body till November 15 to explain itself or face legal action from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

Reacting to the development in a post via his X handle on Tuesday, Sani called on the global body to respond to the allegation raised by the minister.

He wrote: “The Minister of Women Affairs,Barister Uche has made a serious allegations against UN Agencies in Nigeria.She alleged that they are using the name of Nigeria to source for money and waste or misuse it. @UNICEF_Nigeria @UNESCO @UNFPA @UN_Women @UNAIDS must respond to this.”

However, the allegation raised against the UN have sparked various reactions from Nigerians on social media.
