The Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College has experienced tragedy after Gifty Kyere, a final-year student, was discovered dead in her boyfriend’s room in Jinijini, Ghana’s Bono Region.
The student, 28, reportedly left home the day before the event, saying she was going to get her personal items and tuition expenses back. The community and her family are in mourning following her untimely demise.
Her father, Pastor Kyere Jonathan of Jinijini’s Agape Evangelical Church, was shocked to hear that Gifty had neglected to come home as she had promised and instead had gone to see her boyfriend.
Edmond Ayomah, the boyfriend, who is now unaccounted for, is 23 years old. He has allegedly communicated with others who intend to turn themselves in to the police, but he is still at large.
Gifty passed away due to an unexpected asthma attack, according to Ayomah, who also claimed that he was unable to transport her to the hospital. His account has been questioned by authorities, though.

Gifty may have been forced to end a pregnancy, according to unverified claims, which authorities think may have contributed to her unexpected death.
While inquiries into the actual cause of Gifty’s death continue, police have opened a thorough inquiry into the incident and are trying to find Ayomah.
