Yauni hamlet, Zakka ward, Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State, was struck by a military airstrike that killed six residents.
A gunfight with bandits previously claimed the lives of three other security workers, including two police officers and a member of the state-owned Community Watch Corps (CWC), according to Daily Trust.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a local resident told the aforementioned website that the event was caused by Saturday’s local government election.

Voters in Zakka village were allegedly to be attacked by the bandits.

A police officer and a CWC operative were killed in a gunfight with the bandits after the security personnel learned of their scheme and allegedly took action to stop it from being carried out. A third police officer was wounded and eventually passed away.
The source claimed that six family members were killed and one woman was injured when a military fighter plane, which had probably arrived to provide reinforcement, dropped a bomb in Yauni settlement, south of Zakka, following that incident.
