Many Nigerians are no longer proud to call themselves citizens of the West African nation, according to Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, an agitator for the Yoruba Nation.
Igboho, who was observed at a UK airport, claimed in a video posted online on Thursday that the country’s lack of patriotism is due to a poor economy, corruption, and insecurity.
If the nation cannot function as a single entity, the separatists added, then different ethnic nationalities should be permitted to go their separate ways.
According to Igboho, Yoruba youths are keen to remake their country into a contemporary, affluent society akin to that of Europe, having traveled the world and acquired invaluable information and experience.
He claimed that there is no security even within the airport. They have the ability to take items from within your suitcase in Nigerian airports. All of these factors discourage people from feeling proud of Nigeria.
We are saddened to identify as Nigerians because of things like that. We support separation for this reason. If Nigeria isn’t functioning as a nation, we should all go our separate ways.
