The 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals draw ceremony is scheduled for Monday evening, January 27, at Rabat, Casablanca’s Mohamed V National Theatre.
Having won three African titles, the Nigerian Super Eagles have been assigned to Pot 1. They will be positioned to stay clear of strong teams like Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Cote d’Ivoire.
Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, the chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor, and Head Coach Éric Sékou Chelle will represent the Super Eagles at the ceremony in the administrative capital of Morocco.
It is the first AFCON to continue from one year to the next, with the competition starting on December 21 and ending on January 18. Morocco, which hosted the tournament for the first time in 1988 when Cameroon won, is scheduled to host it again. Previously granted the opportunity to host the 2015 finals, the country withdrew because of worries over the Ebola outbreak.

Pot 2: Burkina Faso, South Africa, DR Congo, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Mali
Pot 3: Benin Republic, Gabon, Angola, Zambia, Uganda, and Equatorial Guinea
Pot 4: Tanzania, Sudan, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Comoros, and Mozambique
