Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and captain Wilfred Ndidi are at the top of the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) 23-man roster for this month’s international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.
On Wednesday, March 18, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle announced the lineup for the two games that are now slated to take place in Antalya, Turkey. He named a mix of returning players and newcomers.
According to reports, the Super Eagles will play Iran on March 27 and Jordan on March 31. Both games have been moved from Amman due to the start of the Middle East’s war crisis.
Along with attacking alternatives Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu, there are also goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Semi Ajayi, and midfielder Frank Onyeka.
Defender Emmanuel Fernandez, forward Philip Otele, and winger Collins Yira Sor have received their first invitations, while goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, who is based in Greece, has returned to the team.
The squad did not include Stanley Nwabali, the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, who is now unemployed following the termination of his contract with Chippa United of South Africa. Victor Osimhen was also left off the list.

Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are midfielders.
