In honor of their win at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, six Super Eagles players have given the Super Falcons team a total of ₦24 million.
Nigeria’s triumph in Morocco was said to have given the Super Falcons a record-tying 10th WAFCON championship.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said in a statement released on Monday that in celebration of the Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON championship, captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joe Ayodele-Aribo gave the sum to each of the team’s 24 members.
The gesture was validated by the NFF, who described it as a display of respect and unity for the Falcons’ accomplishment.
Following the players’ 3-2 victory over Morocco in Saturday’s final in Rabat, the donation is in addition to a number of additional incentives that have previously been announced.

Each player received a three-bedroom residence in the Renewed Hope Estate, a $100,000 cash prize, and the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from President Bola Tinubu during a reception in Abuja.
Additionally, each player and the 11 members of the technical and administrative staff received ₦10 million from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau called the numerous actions “unprecedented and transformative,” and he added that young girls around Nigeria would be inspired by the Super Falcons’ appreciation.
“Mr. President did something that no other leader had ever done before. Gusau stated that this move will work as a catalyst to encourage our nation’s girls to pursue excellence through respectable means.
“With this announcement, the girl child will now realize that they can succeed in sports and any other honorable career or vocation.”
