Technical Glitches Force Suspension of Paramilitary Recruitment, New Date Set for July 21

The hiring site of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has been temporarily suspended.

Recruitment into paramilitary organizations, including the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), is the focus of the portal.

The portal was made available for applications to be recruited by the four parastatals barely two days prior to the suspension.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the board’s secretary, AM Jubril, the CDCFIB stated the suspension is a part of an effort to maximize system efficiency.

The portal will reopen on Monday, July 21, he noted.

The announcement says, “This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.”

“We are dedicated to making sure that the hiring process is fair and transparent, and we value the passion and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these important agencies.”

Since the portal’s application period opened on July 14, the board has issued three service announcements.

When visitors complained about not being able to access the website, it first stated that “a new few updates is set to be added for your easy navigation, optimal performance and complete field entries.”

Some Nigerians have shared their application-processing experiences on social media.

“I have had to restart since 3:30 am because this Error 405, which continues coming up after I enter my phone number and NIN, keeps returning me to the home page. What possible issue might there be? One user on X inquired.

After the application was made available, a few prospective candidates also expressed dissatisfaction about their inability to use the portal.
