Regarding the anticipated 50% increase in telecommunications tariffs, the Federal Government (FG) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This was included in an agreement signed Monday during a meeting between the federal government and the NLC on the projected increase in telecom tariffs.
Mr. Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, Mr. Emmanuel Ugboaja, General Secretary of the NLC, Muhammadu Dingyadi, Minister of Labor and Employment, and Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, all signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

The parties agreed to meet in a technical group to address the majority of the difficult issues brought up during the conversation, according to the Memorandum of Understanding.
The resolution calls for the formation of a joint committee of five members from the FG and the NLC.
Within two weeks, it is anticipated that the committee will wrap up and present its findings.
The parties asked Nigerians to maintain their composure as the committee wrapped up its work.
