With the help of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), police, and local vigilantes, security personnel in Katsina State successfully stopped an abduction attempt, killing five suspected bandits and confiscating seven motorcycles.
This successful ambush occurred in the Dandume Local Government Area’s Dutsen Wori village as a result of trustworthy information that the police leadership had obtained.
Speaking during a news conference on April 11, 2025, Katsina State Police Command spokesperson DSP Sadiq Aliyu stated that the operation, which was headed by the Dandume Division Divisional Police Officer (DPO), started at 4:15 a.m.
According to Sadiq, five armed bandit suspects were eliminated as a result of the operation, and seven motorcycles that the offenders used—four Hondas and three Boxers—were recovered.
The Department of State Services (DSS) sent the police command with more information about bandit activity in the Danmusa LGA villages of Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo later that day, at around 7:00 a.m.

In order to handle the crisis, the Danmusa DPO assembled a second combined team made up of vigilantes, KSCWC members, and police officers. After a battle, the crew was able to drive the crooks out of their hiding place.
Three alleged informants were captured during this operation; they are thought to have given the bandits logistical support. Two motorcycles and two bicycles were also retrieved from the site by security personnel.
There are still efforts on to apprehend the escaped criminals.
Katsina State Police Commissioner CP Bello Shehu commended the joint security team’s professionalism, dedication, and coordination.
“Along with other security agencies, these operations demonstrate our unwavering commitment to securing lives and property in Katsina State,” CP Shehu stated.
In the fight against banditry and associated crimes, he reaffirmed the command’s commitment to being watchful and relentless.
