Governor Alex Otti has once again received accolades for his achievements to Abia State from Senator Adolphus Wabara, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) board of trustees.
At the 80th birthday celebration of Dr. Godswill Okoro, a former Secretary to the State Government during the first term of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, conducted on Sunday at the International Conference Center in Umuahia, Wabara made this statement.
Before becoming a member of the PDP, the former Senate President made it clear that he was an Abia State native.
Wabara was prohibited from holding any party office after being suspended by the Abia State chapter of the party on Tuesday, February 11.

The decision was made following a meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC), which was chaired by Amah Abraham.

Wabara was given the chance to apologize, but he chose not to, according to the Abia State PDP, which accused him of anti-party activities.

It stated that Wabara’s actions are inappropriate for a former Senate president and party leadership.

But Wabara addressed the crowd and restated his position, saying that after elections, governance should come before party politics.

First and foremost, I, Adolphus Nduneweh Wabara, was an Abia citizen before I became a PDP card-carrying member and then an NRC card-carrying member in this state, he declared.

Following campaigns and elections, politics comes to a close, and then governance comes into focus. Even a man who is blind may see what is going on in Abia! And I’m repeating myself! Perhaps they can expel me now that they have said that I was suspended.

Wabara went on, “But, having said so, sir, continue with the works; our ancestors in Abia are with you,” offering Otti encouragement to keep up his efforts. Perhaps Governor Otti came to praise Dr. Emelike Okoro, and the state’s PDP leadership will go on broadcast the next day to suspend him.
