Popular clergyman Femi Lazarus has addressed musician Timi Dakolo’s criticism of him for charging $150 for his ministry school.
The two were said to have gotten into arguments over whether gospel singers should charge for their performances at church functions and festivals.
Gospel artists who seek remuneration for their ministry are criticized by Pastor Lazarus in a widely shared video, saying they should put their faith in God for provision rather than focusing on making money.
In his view, gospel performers are more than just entertainers; they are gospel ministers.
Pastor Lazarus’ viewpoint was sharply contested by Dakolo, who claimed that pastors were forcing gospel singers to perform for free despite their other financial commitments.
Speaking again in a recent post, Dakolo accused Lazarus of charging $150 for people to join his ministry school, which offers Christian instruction.

Lazarus appears to be at odds with his position on the payments for gospel singers, as Dakolo pointed out that he charges for his school of ministry.
Deeemaths, a netizen, was asked about the cost and responded, “But you charge $150 for your school of ministry? Please, sir, could you elaborate? I believed it to be ministry.
All Lazarus said was, “Yes, it is a school.”
According to his statement, his ministry school’s instruction and training are worthy of payment.
