President Bola Tinubu has appointed some individuals to the Governing Board of the North-West Development Commission (NWDC).
The president signed the North-West Development Commission Bill into law on July 24.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Saturday in Abuja that his principal appointed Amb. Haruna Gindau as Chairman of the Governing Board and Prof. Abdullahi Ma’aji as Managing Director.
The duo are from Jigawa and Kano States respectively.
Members of the board are – Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto), Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi) and Senator Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara).
Others are- Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna), Muhammad Ali (Kano), Shamsu Sule (Katsina) and Nasidi Ali (Jigawa).

The statement read: “The nominated board members are expected to contribute their wealth of experience and expertise to the Commission’s mandate of developing the North-West region.
“The NWDC will focus on catalysing significant growth, economic empowerment, and social development of the region.
“President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to supporting the NWDC in its mission to bring sustainable development to the North West is steadfast.”
