President Bola Tinubu threatens to step in if governors disregard the ruling on local government autonomy from the Supreme Court.
Speaking during the All Progressives Congress (APC) 15th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Friday night at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu delivered the warning.
He emphasized that governors must abide by and respect the Supreme Court’s ruling on local government autonomy and that it continues to be the country’s highest legal authority.
“The Supreme Court has made it clear that you must give them their money directly.” Because I have the knife and the yam, I will chop it if you wait for my executive order.
