Governors elected on the basis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reaffirmed their steadfast support for President Bola Tinubu’s ambitious reform initiatives in the face of mounting popular dissatisfaction and significant economic hardship.
Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), said following a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Wednesday that Tinubu’s economic reforms are starting to be recognized both domestically and globally, despite the initial outcry.
The purpose of the gathering, which included APC governors, ministers, and party officials, was to assess the administration’s accomplishments, reinforce party cohesion, and map out a course for the future that would promote Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
“The government’s reform initiatives were harshly criticized by the opposition at the start of this administration. According to Uzodimma, however, the president is being vindicated today.
According to him, respectable international organizations are suddenly praising Tinubu’s economic measures, which have provoked harsh home criticism. He continued, “International organizations like the World Bank and the IMF are praising the president.”
The success of the APC is largely dependent on its unity and internal democracy, Uzodimma emphasized. All progressive governors contributed to the formation of this administration. All those present, regardless of their official position, are members of the APC. He said, “We’ve gathered to congratulate Nigeria and ourselves on recent developments.
He said the meeting was centered on planning ways to help party members and citizens who stick with the party during tough times.
The governor declared, “We have an obligation to assist this courageous man, who is dedicated to Nigeria’s advancement.”
President Tinubu said that plans were in motion to celebrate and reflect on the milestone as he spoke about his impending second anniversary in office. He stated, “The anniversary programs and events will soon be unveiled by the APC National Working Committee, with full participation.”
The meeting was characterized as a strategic and private party conversation by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.

“This was a family gathering of National Working Committee members, ministers, and APC governors,” Idris stated.
He emphasized that as the government approaches the halfway point of its term, the meeting was a chance to assess its success. “What has been accomplished thus far has delighted us. He remarked, “There’s a lot to showcase.”
“The APC is increasing public engagement to better inform citizens of the administration’s milestones while gathering their feedback for future improvements,” the minister said.
