Next week, when President Bola Tinubu travels for a state visit sponsored by King Charles III, Britain will limit airspace and station armed police officers in Windsor.
On Wednesday, March 18, Tinubu is scheduled to arrive at Windsor Castle for a reception with his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.
The Royal Household, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and other security partners are collaborating with Thames Valley Police, according to a statement posted on its website on Wednesday.
The police announced that on Wednesday, March 18, airspace restrictions around Windsor Castle, which are in effect year-round, would be extended to include the hours of 7 a.m. to 11.59 p.m.
According to Chief Superintendent Adrian Hall of the Joint Operations Unit of Thames Valley Police, the aviation restrictions were a component of a larger security operation for the visit.

“This event has undergone extensive planning and preparation, and as a force, we have a great deal of experience policing Royal events in Windsor,” Hall stated.
He warned that any violation would be considered a criminal crime under the Air Navigation Order and may result in arrest, and that the police will take a firm approach in implementing the limitations.
“We will be taking a strong stance in enforcing the restrictions; anyone who violates them may be arrested for a criminal offense under the Air Navigation Order.”
In addition to neighborhood policing and Project Servator resources, the police chief stated that officers with specialized skills, including as search teams, the Mounted Section, road policing, and armed units, would be stationed across Windsor.
“Many police officers with specialized skills, such as our search teams, Mounted Section, Roads Policing, and armed units, will be deployed to Windsor, and our neighborhood and Project Servator resources will also be on the ground interacting with the public,” he stated.
In addition, hostile vehicle mitigation barriers, a large closed-circuit television network, and other secret security measures will be implemented by the authorities for the event.
“To ensure the event runs safely, we will also be using the extensive CCTV network in Windsor, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation barriers, and many other security measures that you may not be able to see,” Hall stated.
He called on the general population to assist the security effort by being watchful.
