In Sarkin Pawa, Niger State, suspected armed bandits attacked late at night and kidnapped four people, including Daina Usman, the council secretary of Munya Local Government Area.
Intelligence reports state that the assault happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. on February 20 when the attackers stealthily entered Usman’s home, which is close to the Sarkin Pawa riverbank—a location that is regularly targeted by criminal elements.
Sorro (also known as Snu), Gambo Shagari, Deborah Daina (his wife), Sati Daina, and Council Secretary Daina Usman are among the victims.

According to Zagazola’s sources, the kidnappers quickly took the captives and fled toward Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area, which is a well-known escape route for local criminal activity.
Security officers immediately assembled a combined task force consisting of military personnel from Sarkin Pawa, the Forward Operating Base (FOB), Niger State Police Tactical Teams, and local vigilante groups to hunt down the abductors after receiving a distress call from the locals.
A concerted search and rescue effort has since been initiated by the security services to find the attackers and guarantee the victims’ safe return.
