Residents of the Tse-Atim hamlet in Ugbaam, Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, are terrified after an early-morning attack that was allegedly carried out by armed men who were thought to be Fulani herders.
Local sources claim that early on Tuesday morning, the attackers broke into the neighborhood, kidnapped a number of inhabitants, and then fled into the bushes.
It was not immediately possible to determine how many people had been abducted.
Several villagers have fled their homes in fear of more attacks as a result of the occurrence, which has caused panic among them.
People in the community are urging security forces to act quickly to guarantee the safe return of the kidnapped individuals and stop a repeat of the incident.
