Two Abducted Reverend Fathers Rescued Hours After State Security Council Meeting In Edo, A Display Of Security Efficiency.

The two Reverend Fathers of Uromi Diocese kidnapped two days ago have been released unhurt after the Ag. Governor’s directive to the security agencies and traditional rulers in Edo State.
Just yesterday, a press statement of the rescued Italian Priest abducted in Edo state was released by the PPRO of Edo State command, a show of maximum security adequacy in Edo state following the recent state security council meeting held.
The Deputy Governor of Edo state, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu met with security chiefs, the head of the vigilante and hunters from across Edo State.
Heads of Local Government Administration, HOLGAs and first-class traditional rulers were also at the meeting to brainstorm on the security situation in the state.

The meeting was geared towards keeping a safe Edo, a safe community and also collaborating with the grassroots and traditional institutions to provide security for the people of Edo state.
It’s not just about protecting the Church now but also about protecting our people and our communities. Security has to start from our communities. When they are all secured, it means the entire state is secured.
It’s obvious that the issue of state police is reoccurring in almost all states, but for now, we want to deal with what’s facing us and while we deal with the challenges of the day, we also look for the sustainability of the various measures put in place to secure our state.
There are new structures added to the existing security architecture. It’s a kind of upgrading given the new challenges, Hon Shaibu added.
It was also agreed that the new dimension to the security situation is an act of terrorism and criminality as all agreed to collaborate and make sure that it becomes history in the state and return Edo to the peaceful state it’s known for.
He noted that he is confident that with the consultations done so far, Edo will be too hot for the criminals.
The outcome of the meeting held has been displayed following the success achieved in the rescue of the kidnapped Italian Priest and the other two Reverend fathers.
