Two siblings Jelad and Jenson Oluwaranakinse were killed in a fire that broke out in a building in the Oluwatuyi neighborhood of Akure, Ondo State.
As their mother, Deborah Oluwaranakinse, went out to get food for the family, the children, ages three and five, respectively, perished in the fire that destroyed their parent’s home.
Deborah was accused of locking her kids inside the house as they were looking for food when the fire started while she was away.
It was reported that before State Fire Service personnel could reach the scene of the incident, the house had been reduced to ashes by the fire.
Speaking about the fire outbreak, neighbors stated: “When the fire broke out, the neighbors surrounding tried to put it out and save the children, but they couldn’t.
When the state fire service finally showed up, the situation had gotten out of control. “The children were dead,” the witness reported.
Even though neighbors tried multiple times to put out the fire in order to save the children, another local resident said that the fire spontaneously erupted without warning.
Ondo Police Command spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami spoke about the regrettable tragedy and stated that an investigation has been started to determine what caused the fire.

According to Odunlami, the two male youngsters who were left in the room were burned and strangled. Jenson Oluwaranakinse, two years old, and Jelad Oluwaranakinse, five, are the first two.
The two kids were kept in their room by their mother, Mrs. Deborah Oluwaranakinse, who then went to get supper. “We have started an investigation,” she stated.
Concurrently, the boys’ burned corpses have been placed in the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital’s mortuary in Akure.
