After a strong home and away performance, Arsenal astonished football fans worldwide on Wednesday, April 16, defeating Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, 5-1 on aggregate, to guarantee their spot in the semi-finals.
Arsenal defeated Real Madrid 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday before defeating the 15-time Champions League champions 2-1 in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to secure a double.
After the surprise victory, fans celebrated the historic outcome with both fans and celebrities. “No miracle at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Arsenal overpower Real Madrid home and away, ending the La Liga team’s Champions League dream,” said Bayo Onanuga, a Nigerian journalist and presidential aide, in admiration of the Gunners’ performance.
