Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, an Islamic cleric, has charged that the US is involved in the insurgency in Nigeria.
Sheikh Gumi further claimed that Boko Haram has been indirectly armed by the US in an effort to destabilize Nigeria.
In response to inquiries on Tuesday’s Frank Talk, a live current events program on Rave 91.7FM in Osogbo, Gumi said that the purported foreign meddling was a component of a larger scheme to coerce Nigeria into housing an American military installation.
According to Gumi, Western nations—especially the US—continue to covertly contribute to Nigeria’s ongoing insecurity.
