Along with other dignitaries, Vice-President Kashim Shettima attended the wedding ceremony on Saturday of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso’s daughter, Dr. Aisha Kwankwaso, and her husband, Fahad Dahiru-Mangal.
Sen. Adamu Alero, Katisina State Governor Dikko Radda, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar were also present.
Other individuals included former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, former National Cairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and Ministers of Defense Badaru Abubakar and Steel Prince Shuaibu Abubakar.
Mahamud Shinkafi, Zamfara, Isah Yuguda, Bauchi, Victor Attah Akwa Ibom, Lucky Igbinedion of Edo, and former Kaduna Governor Ahmed Makarfi were also present.
Other prominent figures included Senator Rufai Hanga, Senator Dino Maleye, and Senator Abdul Ningi.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of politicians, business leaders, members of the national and state assemblies, and diplomat corps members, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The Fatiha wedding ceremony was held in the Emir’s Palace in Kano at approximately 12:15 p.m.
The wedding was officiated by Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano.

On behalf of the bride, Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano received the N1 million dowry from Shettima, who was the groom’s stand-in.
The gathering attracted a sizable number of locals, along with well-known Islamic academics and other well-wishers from all around the nation.
Security in and around the Kano metropolis was extremely strict throughout the wedding, according to NAN.
Kwankwaso’s daughter and her husband, the son of a well-known business magnate named Dahiru-Mangal, were to be united, the Chief Imam prayed.
The marriage ceremony emphasized the importance of Kano State’s traditional and cultural institutions, with the Emir’s Palace serving as a representation of the area’s rich past.
Kano State was governed by Kwankwaso from 1999 to 2003 and again from 2011 to 2015.
In the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he served as a senator and minister of defense.
North-West University and Kano University of Science and Technology were founded by Kwankwaso.
