Toyin Abraham’s box office record has been exceeded by Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola.

A few days have passed since Wumi Toriola became the 2024 box office champion.

The actress was reportedly given the title of box office champion by the National Film and Video Censors Board, or NFVCB, on behalf of the Federal Government.

Abraham’s record was broken by Toriola’s most recent film, Queen Lateefah, which is now among the highest-grossing Nigerian films ever made.

After its September premiere, the movie has made N350 million in just two months, more than Abraham’s “Malaika,” which brought in N302 million.

The recent accomplishment has positioned Queen Lateefah in the top seven highest-grossing Nollywood flicks. Actress Funke Akindele’s records from “A Tribe Called Judah” and “Battle On Buka Street” are now in danger of being broken by the movie.

In response to the news, she posted on Instagram, saying, “Queen Lateefah is still waxing strong and flashing bright! 700 million dollars, making it the seventh highest-grossing Nollywood film ever. Thank you so much to everyone.
