Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s minister, has promised to recognize the athletes who have won various sporting events while representing the FCT.
On Tuesday in Abuja, Wike revealed this in a statement from the FCT sports department.
A reception honoring the athletes who represented the FCT at the 7th and 8th National Youth Games and the 2022 National Sports Festival is planned for Thursday, he said.

“The honor is to honor the athletes for their sacrifices, patriotism, and perseverance that have brought honor to the FCT,” he said.
“We will keep fostering the conditions necessary for sports to flourish because we are dedicated to seeing them flourish in the FCT.
“This aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s emphasis on empowering young people to realize their potential and become better people,” the minister said.
