Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has pledged to continue causing his political rivals anxiety.
Shortly after the FCT Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, the Minister made this statement during a media briefing.
He declared that as long as he is on the side of the law, his rivals in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will have restless nights.
Wike made this claim in defense of his altercation with Lieutenant AM Yerima, a Naval officer, over a land dispute in Abuja’s Gaduwa neighborhood.
The owner, Awwal Gambo (retd), a former Chief of Naval Staff, was making changes to the area designated for Parks and Recreation.
Military personnel were drafted to the site and barred from performing their duties, therefore attempts by FCT Administration authorities to stop laborers from illegally changing the land from the initial allocation failed.
This action infuriated Wike, who assaulted the premises with his squad, but Yerima and the military commanders stopped them from entering.
Yerima and the military officers’ actions sparked a furious dispute with Wike, which then turned into a nationwide outcry.
“I have no regret for my political opponents, and I will continue to make them have sleepless nights, whether you are in the PDP, APC, or ADC,” Wike stated.
“As long as I’m abiding by the law, I have no regrets. If you want to bring any ethnicity or coloration, that’s your business.”
